01 · Quick answer
Choose the route that fits where you are
If you’re already in Oltrarno, walk. From the other side of the Arno, it’s an easy walk over the Ponte Vecchio, or a short bus ride to Serragli Santa Monaca. A taxi works best for anyone who shouldn’t walk far.

Best if nearby
Walk through Santo Spirito
From Piazza Santo Spirito, take Via Sant’Agostino west, cross Via dei Serragli, and continue straight on. The street becomes Via Santa Monaca. Number 6 is on this short stretch before Piazza del Carmine.
- No tickets or transfers
- Flat streets
- Few minutes from Santo Spirito
Final approach
Look for the Conad supermarket and the Santa Monaca Hostel. The church door is part of the same building.

Public transport
Bus to Serragli Santa Monaca
Autolinee Toscane lines C1, 11 and 18 all list Serragli Santa Monaca on Via dei Serragli, around the corner from the church. Each line stops there in only one direction, so check your route in a live planner.
- C1 · 11 · 18
- Direction matters
- Short final walk
Before boarding
Buy or validate your ticket before you ride. Plan the trip home separately, because return buses use other stops.
03
Least walking
Taxi to the street address
Give the driver the full written address, not “Santa Monaca church”. Florence taxis are white, and you can book one by phone or in an app instead of hailing on the street.
- 055 4390 · 055 4242
- Show the address
- Agree the drop-off
Tell the driver
“Via di Santa Monaca 6, Firenze.” For the dinner package, say “Piazza del Carmine 24” instead.

Plan first
Drive, park outside the centre, finish by bus
Oltrarno is inside Florence’s ZTL limited-traffic zone. Cameras fine unauthorised cars automatically, and rental cars are included. Park at a garage outside the zone and take the bus in. Line C1 runs from Parterre, next to the Parterre car park, to Serragli Santa Monaca.
- ZTL cameras
- Park outside the zone
- C1 from Parterre
Before driving
Check the ZTL hours for your date. Don’t use the church address as your satnav destination.
